About the Fund

The Access to Justice Fund is a women-led philanthropic initiative dedicated to supporting women-led organizations advancing access to justice in fragile and conflict-affected settings.

At a time when conflict-related violence against women and girls is escalating, and funding for women-led organizations continues to shrink, we exist to close the gap between urgent need and available resources by investing in the people and organizations closest to the crisis.

Our Vision

We envision a future where women-led organizations working in conflict and fragile settings have sustained access to the resources, trust, and institutional support necessary to advance justice within their communities.

Over time, the Access to Justice Fund aims to help reshape how philanthropy reaches frontline organizations by building funding models that are ethical, locally grounded, and responsive to crisis realities.

Why This Fund Exists

Across fragile and conflict-affected settings, women-led organizations are often the first to respond to violence, displacement, and institutional breakdown. They provide legal aid, survivor support, advocacy, documentation assistance, and pathways to protection long before international systems arrive.

Yet despite their critical role, these organizations remain chronically underfunded. Global funding for women-led initiatives has declined at the same time that conflict-related violence against women and girls continues to rise.

The Access to Justice Fund was created to help bridge this gap through ethical, flexible, and trust-based funding designed to reach the people closest to the crisis.

What We Do

The Fund mobilizes resources for women-led grassroots organizations delivering justice, protection, and legal empowerment in fragile and conflict-affected settings.

The core of our work is to give grants, but we are more than a fund.

  • Supporting women-led grassroots organizations advancing access to justice, survivor protection, legal aid, and community-based response in conflict-affected settings.

  • Investing in the long-term sustainability, visibility, and leadership of women-led organizations working on the frontlines of justice and protection.

  • Advocating for more equitable, flexible, and trust-based funding approaches that better serve grassroots organizations in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
